DR. RAWSON CARLIN

COUNSELOR

Rawson Carlin. D. Min., LPC, NCC, LCAS, MAC, CCS, DCC, Over 30 years of Christian/Pastoral Counseling. Worked at Teen Challenge for 11 years helping people overcome life controlling problems.

Education and Credentials: BA in Social Services, MA in Pastoral Psychology and Counseling, Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry. Completed 1600 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education. Licensed Professional Counselor (in North Carolina & Wyoming), Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and Certified Clinical Supervisor (in North Carolina), Licensed Addictions Therapist (in Wyoming), National Certified Counselor, Master Addiction Counselor, Certified Distance Counselor, Substance Abuse Professional for DOT (in North Carolina), and Ordained Minister.

ELLIOTT SANCHEZ, M. DIV., M. TH.

COUNSELOR

Education and Credentials: M.Div., M.Th. Earned a Master’s in Divinity Degree with a focus on Pastoral Care and a Master’s Degree in Theology from Liberty University. Contract counselor with eCare Counseling. Candidate for Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling through Grand Canyon University. Ordained Minister, Licensed Clinical Pastoral and Temperment Counselor, Certified Christian Life Coach, and Board Registered Substance Abuse Counselor. Completed 400 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education at the Carolina’s Medical Center in Charolotte, NC.

Clinically, Elliot employs a style of counseling utilizing evidence based practices such as motivational interviewing complemented by the use of the Arno Profile System™ . Elliot likewise uses a strengths based approach, assisting his clients in recognizing personal assets and resources necessary to change. Through an enhanced sense of discernment, and recognition of personal strengths, his clients have been successful in achieving both their personal and counseling goals. Elliot has extensive experience working with both male adolescents and adults involved in court mandated counseling services

BRENDA MARTIN COOPER, MA, LCAS

COUNSELOR

Brenda Martin Cooper, MA, LCAS is native of Charlotte, NC and graduated from West Mecklenburg High School. She has 16 years of experience as a substance abuse professional and is a counselor with the McLeod Addictive Disease Center’s adult outpatient treatment program where she has been employed for nine years. Before joining McLeod Center Brenda worked seven years as a counselor for Hope Haven, a long-term therapeutic residential program in Charlotte NC that provide counseling and life skills to help men, women, and families recovery from the disease of addiction and transition back in society to live a healthy drug free lifestyle.

Brenda is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (NC) and is a National Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2007 with a Master of Arts in Community Counseling. Brenda also received her Graduate Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling in 2004 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Shaw University 1995.

Brenda is currently working on becoming a Certified Clinical Supervisor to help other clinicians in the chemical dependency field achieve their licensures and certifications because she is committed to helping people overcome the devastation and life controlling problems that comes with being addicted to alcohol and other drugs.

MICHAEL BENFIELD MS, CSAC

COUNSELOR

Contract counselor with eCare Counseling and President of Hope-Healing-Fresh Start Counseling Services, LLC. Bi-Vocation Pastor and Counselor with over 18 years of ministry and over 15 years in Christian Counseling.

Education and Credentials: MS Degree in Christian Counseling. Ordained minister, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, Certified Anger Resolution Therapist, and Certified Tobacco Cessation Treatment Specialist, and also completed Sure Bet I & II Gambling and Addiction Training.

Types of Treatment/Care Provided: Assessment and treatment for Substance Abuse, Tobacco Addiction, Anger & Gambling Problems. Individual and Group Therapy. Also Christian Counseling, Premarital, Marriage, Grief, Family, and Divorce Counseling.
